”My body, my life, became the landscape of my son’s life. I am no longer merely a thing living in the world; I am a world.”

— Sarah Manguso

When you’re leaking from everywhere and your chest is one of them….

You have a tiny human who needs food, comfort, and a clean diaper…

But you’re not sure if this is how it’s supposed to feel or if it’s going “right”….

As Certified Lactation Counselors we can support you with things like education on lactation physiology so you understand how your body makes milk, troubleshooting common lactation issues such as painful latching, milk supply, going back to work, hand expressing, using a pump, and so much more.

Our Lactation Counseling Services

In-Home Lactation Counseling

$103 for Initial Session

$63 for follow-ups

Let us meet you after birth, in the comfort and security of your own home, to evaluate your latch, discuss any challenges you are facing, and help you find solutions that work for your unique family’s needs.

While you get comfortable and relax into a feeding session with your little one, we will be right by your side to help you adjust your latch, teach you signs that you are effectively transferring milk, and help identify solutions in order to overcome obstacles.

We expect you to have dirty dishes in your sink and laundry on the floor while you take just a little bit of time out for yourself to get this nursing journey off on the right track… with a little bit (or a lot!) of support from us.

Initial sessions typically take about 3 hours and follow-ups are about 2 hours.

During pregnancy, your body is already changing to meet your baby’s nutritional needs by creating colostrum that will eventually turn into mature human milk. But, while many will say that breast/chest feeding is “natural,” it is definitely not always instinctual or easy.

  • How does your body make milk?

  • How do you even latch a baby on?

  • How do you know if they are getting enough milk?

  • How often should you nurse?

  • What are some signs that things aren’t right?

We cover all of this in our prenatal lactation classes, where we teach you the basics of breast/chest/body feeding, help you understand this whole latching thing, and give you some awesome tips and tricks from certified lactation educators who have not only been in the trenches with their own breastfeeding challenges, but who have also overcome a lot to reach their goals.

3 classes that are typically 2.5 hours long and ideally take place in the comfort of your own home, taught by a certified lactation educator and counselor. We bring all materials, demonstration tools, and learning supplies to your door! Partners, family members, and anyone else who will be involved in the care of your baby are encouraged to join us!

A note from us about lactation support:

We recognize that there are many different types of lactation support available in our area and as Certified Lactation Counselors, we are just one of those. Our lactation counseling services are intended to be an additional layer of support for our birth and postpartum clients and not intended to replace more advanced lactation care.

We happily partner with local IBCLCs, ENTs, pediatricians, chiropractors, OTs, and other providers to help you reach your own feeding goals.

  • “Bethany was a literal godsend after I had my son. I never would've been able to breastfeed for 14 months without her help. Bethany taught me so much, and over the years I have been able to help many of my friends and family with their breastfeeding journeys with the things she taught me.”

  • “One thing I was determined to do was have a good breastfeeding experience with my second child. I did not have a good breastfeeding journey with my first child and ended up exclusively pumping for a year. I attributed it mostly to poor advice from nursing staff post delivery. Samantha knew how important this was to me and offered full support every step of the way. She helped ensure good latch and feeding after delivery. Then came the next day to offer more support and make sure he was transferring milk. We are now over 8 weeks postpartum and Samantha still checks in and offers support. I now believe everyone should have a doula during their pregnancy.”
