Build Your Own Birth Doula Package

Prenatal Visits (~90 mins)

Your prenatal sessions are to build our relationship and your trust, discuss your hopes and worries, explore personalized childbirth education, prepare for breast/body feeding, learn some Spinning Babies® techniques, practice comfort and coping measures, go inward with birth art activities, provide personalized community resources, and more. These sessions are tailored to what it is YOU want to know and what will help you feel most supported for the big day ahead. No worries though; we’ll help even if you don’t know what it is you want to know. That’s exactly what we do best!

Labor and Birth Support

We provide continuous labor support on the big day, from the moment you need your birth worker until 1-2 hours postpartum. We will bring massage tools, fans, words of affirmation, and one heck of a double hip squeeze. We will help guide your partner with comfort measures so they are involved with confidence. We will be with you the whole way to help you navigate decisions in real time and help you advocate for yourself to achieve the birth that you are hoping for. You choose how you want to be supported!

Postpartum Visits (~90mis)

In your postpartum visits we will bring your family a warm, nutritious home-cooked meal and create some space to talk about and process your birth experience together. We’ll also check in about your postpartum body changes and physical recovery, your emotional well-being and relationship changes, all while helping with some newborn care so you can catch your breath for a minute and know you’re not in this alone. As certified lactation counselors, we will also support you with infant feeding, since those first days and weeks can be so challenging!

Additional Postpartum Doula Support

We also offer additional Postpartum Doula Packages where we can dive more deeply into household support, newborn care, and emotional support. 15 hours are covered by flex funds for our OHP (PacificSource) clients. We also offer cost-saving bundles for our out-of-pocket payers (using our economic justice pricing system).

  • “From the first time I heard what a doula was, I immediately thought what a wonderful idea! But having a lot of support of family and friends, it wasn’t a service I thought I would personally benefit from. My first pregnancy and delivery with no doula support had a lot of rough patches I was determined to avoid with my second. While family and friends were supportive they didn’t have the knowledge or expertise to help me through my difficulties. So I enlisted the wonderful help of Samantha. She was there for me for whatever I needed, whether it was practical delivery advice or just loving understanding of my fears. Her passion for mothers and babies and the relationship between shines though her words and actions. One benefit of a doula I really enjoyed was having someone take those little questions to or bounce off ideas with. Many times during pregnancy you have little nagging thoughts that seem too trivial to call the doctors office for. A doula is the perfect person to help flush those thoughts and questions through to determine what’s ‘normal pregnancy stuff’ and when to seek medical advice/help. During my delivery she was able to help me be so calm and really looked out for my needs and well being. Samantha helped coach me though breathing and relaxation exercises, offered positions to help with discomfort, and was always encouraging.”

  • “I seriously could not have done it without Bethany’s help… Honestly, this was the best labor and delivery as far as making INFORMED choices, rather than just doing what I was told. In my heart, I am so glad about how it turned out given the circumstances. You and [my husband] were amazing for me... It was so beautiful.”

  • “This review has taken me 3 months to write because how does one put pure love, joy, and elation into words? Samantha was our doula for our daughter, a homebirth. We had assumed that Samantha would be doing lots of physical support and my husband doing more mental support. My labor progressed so quickly that by the time we had called Sam for her to come, it was almost too late. But, she made it!! For me, having Sam there wasn’t only about support, it was about comfort. She made me feel so warm, safe and comfortable. She knew what words to say and in just the right tone. She cheered me on as I pushed & celebrated as I achieved my dream birth. Samantha never once made me feel like a burden or that I was annoying her with text after text of complaints through pregnancy. I always felt heard & validated, and when I needed it, she called me out when I was being my own worst enemy. After pregnancy & labor, she maintained a beautiful relationship with me and my daughter. She brought us dinner, she continued to check in on my mental & physical state. She took “above & beyond” to a whole new level. I truly cannot put into words the amount of love and support she showered me with (and she literally showered me after my daughters birth). The only mistake you will make through your labor process is if you don’t hire Samantha as your doula. She is the cheerleader, supporter, friend, and confidant every mama deserves in labor.”

  • “I had a c-section after a very long and traumatic labor process with my first child. When I got pregnant with my second, it was an automatic certain thought that I was going to do everything in my power to have a successful VBAC. I read everything I could on how to do what I could to help that happen. Getting a doula was recommended several times. I talked to my husband, who was a little hesitant about this, not wanting to feel overpowered as a partner, and not really understanding what a doula was at all. I reached out on a moms Facebook group asking for recommendations on people that were starting out as doulas, hoping to be able to afford one. Through this, Samantha reached out to me and we got together to see if we would be a good fit. Talking to Samantha, I feel like I found my soul sister. Our experiences in childbirth were so similar and I knew I absolutely HAD to have this lady as my doula. Samantha was there for me throughout my pregnancy, for all of the questions and concerns I had. She was my friend and my confidant, especially as the pandemic hit and I became frightened about what this would all mean for my VBAC. Samantha offered to be there for me up to the very last second that she could (doulas were not allowed in the hospital), even laboring in the parking lot with me if she had to. When the day came, Samantha came right over to my home and labored for hours with me, helping me get through intense back pain. When it was time to leave for the hospital, she was there on the phone for me as my support. I got my VBAC and I absolutely believe I would not have been the strong mother I was without her help, without her support. My husband is 100% pro doula now, after experiencing Samantha. I recommend Samantha up and down and all over the place to everyone I possibly can. I love her so much and owe her the world!”

  • “I was preparing for a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean). I had a lot of anxiety and fears but having Bethany there for us really helped lift a lot of those feelings. She comforted, helped, and coached us through it all. I believe with her, she helped me succeed in accomplishing my dream of having a VBAC.”
